Richard Participates in Panel Discussion at the Employment Law Roundtable

On Thursday, December 14, 2017, Richard participated in a panel discussion at the Employment Law Roundtable at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick, NJ. He spoke and presented a paper:

“Is Informally Accessing Employer Information to Help Prove New Jersey Discrimination or Retaliation Claims Protected Activity under the LAD and CEPA? ”

Seminar Director, Eileen O’Connor, Esq., thanked all the speakers for their excellent presentations and expressed her gratitude for their individual and collective efforts. She noted that the entire day of programs was very well received and enjoyed by all who attended.


Bankruptcy in Employment Litigation

On Wednesday, May 3, 2017, Richard moderated a panel discussion, “Bankruptcy in Employment Litigation,” at the NELA-NJ dinner meeting held at the Rutgers Club in New Brunswick, NJ.

NELA-NJ President, Katy McClure, Esq., thanked Richard for assembling and moderating a very informative panel on Bankruptcy and Employment Litigation.   She noted that this  program was designed in response to member requests for guidance on how to handle a case when a defendant files for bankruptcy.


Richard Yaskin speaks at 2017 State Bar Workplace harassment Update Seminar

Richard spoke at the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education’s January 31, 2017 Workplace Harassment Update Seminar at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick, NJ.  He presented on the following seminar paper with a Powerpoint: New Jersey Workplace Harassment: “Paths to Employer Liability after Aguas v. State Applying Model Jury Charge 2.25 (05/2015)“; and also submitted “The New Jersey Supreme Court will bar Ellerth-Farragher Affirmative Defenses for Employers ‘[who] implement an ineffective anti-harassment policy, or fail to enforce its policy.'”

Richard Yaskin addresses workplace harassment at State Bar Employment Roundtable

At the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education’s December 14, 2016 Employment Law Roundtable, Richard spoke on a panel about recent developments in New Jersey Workplace Harassment law. The presentation,“Aguas v. State of NJ and its Progeny,” was held at the New Jersey Law Center. Richard presented the following seminar papers:  “New Jersey Workplace Harassment: Paths to Employer Liability After Aguas v. State  and “Legal Issues to Watch following the Supreme Court’s ruling in Aguas v. State.


Richard Yaskin appointed as co-chair of New Jersey State Bar Assoc. Labor & Employment Section’s Workplace Harassment Committee

In September 2016, Richard was appointed as a Co-Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association Labor & Employment Section’s  Workplace Harassment Committee. He is slated to speak at the Committee’s NJICLE-sponsored “Update on Workplace Harassment Law” scheduled on January 31, 2017 at the New Jersey Law Center.
